Automated Material Handling (AMH)
Tech Logic: Often imitated. Never equaled.
Find out why Tech Logic's Automated Material Handling systems are different from other vendors' systems - and how these differences will affect your library. At Tech Logic, we innovate; we don't imitate. Open this brief presentation for more information.
Get Your Items Where They Need to Go
Tech Logic's Automated Material Handling (AMH) systems eliminate the hard physical labor of sorting and moving items. The cost of workmen's compensation claims for "stoop, load, sort" injuries is astounding. In addition, time your staff spends stooping, loading, and sorting is time that they could spend on duties that utilize their talents. Conventional book handling methods are also hard on library items, because items are dropped, shoved, and piled. This pretty much ensures these items won't last their intended circulation life span.
Our AMH systems get items where they're supposed to be quickly, gently, and intelligently. They resolve the problems of conventional methods (damage to people, damage to items, and items not getting back to shelves quickly enough).
Smart Machines for Smart Libraries
Patented and unique to the library world, Tech Logic's AMH systems and machines range from simple hands free book drops connected to a short conveyor that checks in the item and places it into a Smart Bin Container, to delivery and sorting systems that handle thousands of items per day and automatically sort, allowing for unlimited placement on rolling carts in reshelving order. Tech Logic's intelligent machines include book drops, belt-conveyor delivery systems, and even inter-library distribution systems.
Tech Logic's AMH systems are precisely engineered to match your library's architecture and space requirements. They are also customized for your library's collection size. Tech Logic manufactures, installs, and services every component of its AMH systems, ensuring that we understand your needs.
Why Tech Logic Conveyor Belts?
Tech Logic's conveyor belt systems powerfully illustrate the company's ability to answer your library's material handling needs in the best possible way.
Our conveyor belts, an important part of our AMH systems, offer features that ensure the best performance. For example, our horizontal belt conveyor is a "slider-bed" configuration. What does that mean for your library? It means that the belt conveyor operates smoothly with as little noise as possible. In addition, all Tech Logic conveyor belts are specially fabricated to ensure maintenance-free use. They include drive pulleys that incorporate the motor and gear drive inside the pulley, so there are no external sprockets, chains, and guards to cause maintenance headaches.
Tech Logic also offers "de-shingling" belt conveyors that separate stacks of books, preventing pileups that would slow the system or damage the books. This patent-pending process means that books are separated before they enter the process area sorting machinery.
Tech Logic even offers vertically inclined or declined belt conveyors that fit in small closets and areas, maximizing your library space for other uses.
