Bin Sorting Systems

High Capacity-Bin Sort System

We'll Help You Move Books
You don't have to be a large library system to use Tech Logic's sorting systems. Small to medium sized libraries can also enjoy the ease and convenience of sorting systems, using one of our smaller RFID Checkin Sort systems. The benefits are the same as those offered to libraries that opt for large automated material handling systems. With these systems, you no longer have to face stacks of books to be checked in, stacks to be sorted, issues of repetitive motion injuries, and time lost to sorting books. Tech Logic's sorting systems, whether large or small, improve productivity and the library work environment.

About the System
Our smaller systems include a hands free book drop. The hands free book drop includes conveyors that gently cushion items, and Smart Bins with floors that rise or lower as items are removed or added. This type of book drop enables patrons to simply drop books off, and then the system checks the books in for you. It can't be easier. The system includes a de-shingling conveyor that ensures the books don't cluster, and after-hours paging to notify staff when the containers become full. The Checkin Sort system sorts by collection code so each book goes into the correct bin for its destination.

Inter-Branch Sort Systems

Keep Track of Your Items
As books move through your library system, it's important to keep track of your library's investment. Not only are these books valuable to you, they're valuable to your patrons. And, are you tired of telling patrons an item is "in-transit," but you really don't know where "in-transit" is? Tech Logic's Inter-Branch Sort Systems handle and track books between your library's branches or to cooperative libraries.

Smart Bin

The Smart Bin
The system sorts, then loads books into weather resistant Smart Bins. An electric eye in the Smart Bin tells it to raise or lower its floor, depending on the number of books in the bin. Your staff won't have to reach into the bottom of a bin to grab the last few books. As the system fills each bin for the designated branch, a batch file list is generated as each book passes by an RFID antenna.

When the Smart Bin reaches its destination, the bin's contents are checked in automatically, within seconds. This batch-transit checkin speeds up the operations at distribution centers and branch and mini-branch locations. Once all bin contents are batch-checked in, the staff person removes books from the bin, passing them over the checkin station's RFID antenna. If the book is on hold, the checkin station will make a sound indicating that the book is on reserve. At the same time, the checkin station will print a receipt with the patron's name.

Now you can keep track of your books, while easily moving them from branch to branch.
