Tech Logic to Release 'CircTRAKrf' Next Generation Portable RFID Reader
White Bear Lake, MN - March 20, 2008 - Tech Logic has engineered a next generation portable RFID reader that uses wireless technology for scanning speed and convenience called CircTRAKrf.
CircTRAKrf is a lightweight, battery operated hand-held unit. It uses Bluetooth® technology to communicate with inventory software on a hand-held or belt worn PC. CircTRAKrf can be used anywhere in the library, be charged in less than two hours, and hold that charge for around four hours of heavy use.
In addition to standard inventory scans, library staff can perform manual, ILS-based, or "build your own" customized searches using CircTRAKrf. These methods offer great flexibility. The manual search accommodates multiple lists. For example, staff could create a list to find pulls and a list to find weeds. The ILS-based search is powerful and versatile, allowing staff to find checked out, missing, lost, hold, transit, and claimed returned. And staff can elect to find all of those items at once, rather than performing multiple scans of the same item.
CircTRAKrf will also provide security bit scans, and in addition, provide information about items that set off security gate alarms.
CircTRAKrf boasts faster read rates, wireless connectivity, and upgradeable intelligence -- making first generation competitive portable devices all but obsolete.
CircTRAKrf is ISO15693 and 18000-3 compliant. It will be available to libraries this spring.
