Disinfecting and cleaning procedure for Tech Logic equipment.

GENERAL CLEANING PRACTICES

All of Tech Logic solutions are purposefully built for Library Environments. We recognize that part of normal usage of our automatic and circulation solution involves people touching the equipment.

Keeping your hardware sanitized is critical to the health, especially now.

Proper, frequent cleaning should not impact the life or performance of your Tech Logic equipment.

Tech Logic recommends using an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution) for cleaning and disinfecting equipment. Avoid using bleach or ammonia based solutions, as these may cause discoloration.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommended disinfectants safe use on Tech Logic products include:

Cleaning DO's and DONT's

DO use a microfiber cleaning cloth or cloth towel.
DO spray the cleaner onto a cleaning cloth or cloth towel.
DO consult device manuals before cleaning the interior of electronic equipment.
DO NOT spray cleaners directly onto electronic equipment.
DO NOT soak any electronic equipment with cleaning liquid.
DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or abrasive cleaning materials (scrub
brush, scouring pads, etc).

selfCIRC & staffCIRC SOLUTIONS

Tech Logic recommends using an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution) for cleaning and disinfecting all selfCIRC and staffCIRC Solutions and equipment. The following steps should be used as a guide for cleaning your equipment:

  • Turn off the device and disconnect from AC power (if possible). Remove any batteries from items like wireless keyboards or mice.
  • Never spray any liquids directly onto the selfCIRC or staffCIRC products.
  • Mosten a microfiber cloth or cloth towel with an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution). The cloth should be damp, but not dripping wet. Excess moisture should be removed if the cloth is wet before wiping the products.
  • Gently wipe the moistened cloth on the surfaces to be cleaned. Do not allow any moisture to drip into areas like keyboards, display panels, etc. Moisture entering the inside of an electronic product can cause damage to the product.
  • When cleaning a display screen, carefully wipe in one direction, moving from the top of the display to the bottom.
  • After cleaning or disinfecting a glass surface, it may be cleaned again using a microfiber cloth and water, or using a glass cleaner designed for display surfaces. Be sure to follow the direction for that specific cleaner. Tech Logic recommends you avoid using glass cleaning products containing ammonia.
  • Surfaces must be completely air-dried before turning the device on after cleaning. No moisture should be visible on the surfaces of the product before it is powered on or plugged in.

circTRAK SOLUTIONS

Tech Logic recommends using an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution) for cleaning and disinfecting all circTRAK Shelf Manager Wands and tablets. The following steps should be used as a guide for cleaning your equipment:

circTRAK SHELF MANAGER

  • Turn off the circTRAK Shelf Manager unit and remove the lithium-ion battery.
  • Never spray any liquids directly onto the circTRAK Shelf Manager unit.
  • Mositen a microfiber cloth or cloth towel with an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution). The cloth should be damp, but not dripping wet. Excess moisture should be removed if the cloth is wet before wiping the circTRAK Shelf Manager.
  • Gently wipe the moistened cloth on the surface of the circTRAK Shelf Manager handle.
  • Use caution when cleaning the circTRAK Antenna, as excess moisture and additional pressure can weaken or damage the unit. Ensure all excess moisture is removed from the moistened cloth prior to gently wiping the unit antenna.
  • Use caution when cleaning the circTRAK lithium-ion battery, as excess moisture in the battery charging port can cause damage. If possible, the charging port area should be avoided when disinfecting the rest of the lithium-ion battery unit.
  • Surfaces must be completely air-dried before turning the device on after cleaning. No moisture should be visible on the surfaces of the product before it is powered on.


circTRAK TABLET PC

  • Turn off your circTRAK Tablet PC and remove it from AC Power (if applicable).
  • Never spray any liquids directly onto the circTRAK Tablet PC.
  • Mosten a microfiber cloth or cloth towel with an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution). The cloth should be damp, but not dripping wet. Excess moisture should be removed if the cloth is wet before wiping the products.
  • Gently wipe the moistened cloth on the surfaces to be cleaned. Moisture entering the inside of an electronic product can cause damage to the product.
  • When cleaning a display screen, carefully wipe in one direction, moving from the top of the display to the bottom.
  • After cleaning or disinfecting a glass surface, it may be cleaned again using a microfiber cloth and water, or using a glass cleaner designed for display surfaces. totalAMH SOLUTIONS

Tech Logic recommends using an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution) for cleaning and disinfecting all totalAMH Solutions. The following steps should be used as a guide for cleaning your equipment:

INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR BOOKDROPS

  • Mositen a microfiber cloth or cloth towel with an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution). The cloth should be damp, but not dripping wet. Excess moisture should be removed if the cloth is wet before wiping the bookdrops.
  • After cleaning or disinfecting the stainless-steel surface, it may be cleaned again using a microfiber cloth and water, or stainless steel cleaner. Be sure to follow the directions for that specific cleaner.
  • You do not need to power down your totalAMH System while cleaning the bookdrops.


totalAMH CONTROL PC

  • Power down your totalAMH System. Remove any batteries from items like wireless keyboards or mice (if applicable).
  • Never spray any liquids directly onto the totalAMH Control PC.
  • Mosten a microfiber cloth or cloth towel with an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution). The cloth should be damp, but not dripping wet. Excess moisture should be removed if the cloth is wet before wiping the products.
  • Gently wipe the moistened cloth on the surfaces to be cleaned. Do not allow any moisture to drip into areas like keyboards, display panels, etc. Moisture entering the inside of an electronic product can cause damage to the product.
  • When cleaning a display screen, carefully wipe in one direction, moving from the top of the display to the bottom.
  • After cleaning or disinfecting a glass surface, it may be cleaned again using a microfiber cloth and water, or using a glass cleaner designed for display surfaces. smartBIN, easyBIN, toteCART AND OTHER SORTER RECEPTICALS

  • Unplug any smartBIN units from AC Power at the totalAMH Sort Location. Power down any smartBIN units by pressing the 'OFF' button on the control box.
  • Never spray any liquids directly onto or into the sort recepticals.
  • Mosten a microfiber cloth or cloth towel with an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution). The cloth should be damp, but not dripping wet. Excess moisture should be removed if the cloth is wet before wiping the products.
  • Gently wipe the moistened cloth on the surfaces to be cleaned. Moisture entering the inside of an electronic product (such as a smartBIN) can cause damage to the product.
  • Surfaces must be completely air-dried before turning the device on after cleaning. No moisture should be visible on the surfaces of the product before it is powered on and/or plugged in.


totalAMH CONVEYANCE 

  • Tech Logic recommends only cleaning the sections of conveyance that is accessible and frequently used by staff. In most cases, this will be limited to the Staff Induction section.
  • Make sure the section(s) of conveyance are not running while you are cleaning. Either pause the section of conveyance (using the Delivery Controls within the totalAMH Software), or power-down your totalAMH System completely before cleaning the sections of conveyance.
  • Never spray any liquids directly onto any section of conveyance.
  • Mosten a microfiber cloth or cloth towel with an Isopropyl alcohol solution (70% solution). The cloth should be damp, but not dripping wet. Excess moisture should be removed if the cloth is wet before wiping the products.
  • Gently wipe the moistened cloth on the surfaces to be cleaned. Moisture entering the inside of an electronic product can cause damage to the product.
  • Take extra caution when cleaning the section(s) of conveyance with photo-eye receptors. Even slight excessive force on these photo-eye receptors could cause misalignment and significantly impact the performance of your totalAMH System.
  • Surfaces must be completely air-dried before turning the device on after cleaning. No moisture should be visible on the surfaces of the product before it is powered on and/or plugged in.
