Internship Reflections: Igran Adam
From March through June this year, Igran Adam served as Tech Logic's first Marketing, Events, and Tradeshow Intern. During her internship she gained hands-on experience in trade shows and events assisting at Tech Logic’s booth at the Public Library Association Conference in April, as well as Tech Logic’s Minnesota Lights event. During her internship, she also contributed to competitor analysis, social media research, presentations, industry reports, and marketing recommendations, expanding her understanding of both marketing and library technology.
Paige Slighter, Tech Logic’s Product Marketing Manager, one of Igran’s supervisors, said, “Igran exemplified a lot of courage, as she was always willing to jump in and adjust to new situations and take on new challenges. Her positive attitude is one of her biggest professional assets.”
Below, Igran reflects on her experience with Tech Logic and the impact it had on her professional career.
Reflecting on My Tech Logic Internship Experience, by Igran Adam
I learned about the Tech Logic internship through my marketing professor, who introduced the opportunity to our class. As someone looking to gain practical marketing experience while still in college, I was excited to apply. The position stood out to me because it combined marketing, events, and trade show experience, giving me the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and develop skills that would support my future career goals.
My time as the Marketing, Events, and Tradeshow Intern at Tech Logic was a valuable and rewarding experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, learn from experienced professionals, and develop skills that will benefit me throughout my career. It allowed me to see how marketing plays an important role in business operations, customer relationships, and overall company growth.
The knowledge and experience I gained during these four months strengthened my confidence, expanded my professional abilities, and provided valuable insight into the world of marketing and business. I appreciate the opportunity Tech Logic provided me and look forward to applying these lessons as I continue my academic journey at Metro State University and work toward my future goals.
I would also like to give a special thank you to Michael Finnern and Paige Slighter for their guidance, support, and mentorship throughout my internship. They took the time to work with me, answer my questions, and help me better understand the marketing side of the business world. Their willingness to share their knowledge and provide feedback helped me grow professionally and gain a deeper understanding of marketing, event planning, and business strategy.
I truly appreciate the time and effort they invested in helping me learn, develop my skills, and become more confident in my abilities. Their support played an important role in making this internship such a meaningful experience, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have learned from them.

The aspects of the internship I enjoyed most were conducting industry research, analyzing competitors, and developing presentations and strategic recommendations. I found it especially rewarding to learn more about the library technology market and gain insight into how different organizations position themselves within the industry.
I also enjoyed contributing ideas related to marketing, social media, and tradeshow strategy. These projects allowed me to blend creativity with critical thinking while developing recommendations aimed at strengthening brand awareness, enhancing customer engagement, and supporting broader business goals.
The most insightful part of the internship was gaining a deeper understanding of how marketing supports business growth and customer relationships. Through competitor analysis, industry research, and project development, I learned how organizations evaluate their strengths, identify opportunities, and communicate their value to customers.
This experience also refined my communication, presentation, and professional writing skills. It taught me how to present information clearly, think strategically, and approach projects with a business-focused mindset. I gained a better understanding of how marketing decisions are made and how important collaboration is in a professional environment.
I plan to continue using the research, communication, and analytical skills I developed throughout this internship in both my academic and professional pursuits. The experience strengthened my ability to evaluate information, develop recommendations, and communicate ideas effectively.
I also hope to continue building my knowledge of marketing, event planning, and business strategy by pursuing future opportunities that allow me to apply these skills in real-world settings. The skills I gained from Tech Logic will continue to support me as I grow academically and professionally.
Here is a clip compilation I put together to share some highlights from my internship:
