Team Member Spotlight: Jessica Perkins

From casino cash to long-haul trucking to nuclear plant operations, Jessica Perkins’ logistics management in all these settings prepared her well for her role as a Project Manager at Tech Logic. Early in her career, she decided to combine her Master’s in Project Management with IT and cost analysis. She joined Tech Logic in 2018 to handle the planning and installation of products for our new and existing customers.  

“Working with library construction and renovation schedules can be challenging,” she explains, “especially when library staff are often wearing many hats. I hope my role smooths the way to help realize a library’s vision for enhanced patron experience with our products.”  

What do you enjoy about working with our customer libraries?

“I learn about the triumphs and tribulations of community engagement. Each library is unique in its buildings, staff and patrons, but they each know their communities and how to deliver good customer service. Libraries are budget-minded when it comes to hard-fought funding for technology projects. They are diligent about completing assignments and meeting due dates to keep their projects on schedule.”

What do you enjoy about working at Tech Logic?

“I can honestly say that I enjoy every coworker at Tech Logic and look forward to seeing them in the office. They share readily and are eager to help you learn. Everything is a team effort to deliver our systems and services successfully to our customers.”

What advice do you have for successful installation projects?

“One thing is critical to success—communication between the library and Tech Logic. There are many decisions that need library input, even if a construction company or IT department is driving the project. Libraries should anticipate some additional workload during project implementation, which pays off in streamlined workflow and improved service.”

Jessica is married to Bill, and they share four grown children and their first granddaughter. In her leisure time, Jessica camps, kayaks, and “gets feral with the earth” in western Wisconsin. You can also find her riding her motorcycle with the “Lady Riders of Faribault Harley”. Ride on, Jessica!
