To help us get to know Michael, we asked him a few questions:
How would you describe yourself to a stranger?
I'm a friendly introvert. I enjoy meaningful conversations and solving complex problems.
What attracted you to working at Tech Logic?
I thrive in environments where there are challenges to solve. Throughout my career, I've enjoyed taking problems and turning them into effective solutions through attention to detail and continuous improvement.
When I learned about Tech Logic, I saw an organization that was open to change and committed to improving its products and processes. I enjoy being part of that kind of environment because it allows me to make a meaningful impact while doing work I genuinely enjoy.
What motivates you?
I've always been fascinated by physics, mathematics, and problem-solving. Engineering presents challenges that require creativity, innovation, and analytical thinking, and that's what motivates me every day.
I especially enjoy working on problems that haven't been solved before. The opportunity to innovate and create something new is what makes me excited to start each day.
How does your previous work experience influence/enhance the work you do at Tech Logic?
My entire career has centered around solving engineering problems. I've worked for both large Fortune 500 organizations and smaller companies, which has given me a broad perspective on engineering, quality, and operational efficiency.
I've learned that successful solutions often come from balancing technical excellence with teamwork. I enjoy working independently, but I also appreciate collaborating with others to develop the most effective and cost-efficient solutions.
What does your role at Tech Logic entail?
My work focuses on automation and engineering, particularly conveyance systems and automated equipment. These are areas I've worked in throughout my career, and I enjoy applying that experience to Tech Logic's products.
One of the things I appreciate most about working at a company like Tech Logic is the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the organization. Everyone contributes to the success of the company, and that collaborative approach helps us create exceptional equipment and solutions for our customers.
Why is automation beneficial for the library industry?
Automation is beneficial in virtually every industry because it creates efficiency. By automating repetitive tasks, organizations can free up staff to focus on higher-value work that requires creativity, expertise, and personal interaction.
For libraries, automation helps streamline operations and allows staff to spend more time serving patrons and supporting their communities.
What do you think sets Tech Logic apart from other library technology companies?
Tech Logic is committed to continuous improvement. There's a strong focus on enhancing products, improving quality, and finding ways to deliver better solutions for customers while keeping costs manageable.
That commitment to innovation and quality is reflected in our Automated Materials Handling (AMH) systems and the ongoing efforts to make our products even more effective and reliable.
Outside of work, what would you like to share about yourself?
Faith and family are very important to me. One of my favorite activities is spending time with my family through Bible study, prayer, and attending ministry conferences together.
I also enjoy traveling and have had the opportunity to visit places such as Taiwan and Japan with my family.
When I'm not traveling, you'll often find me woodworking, restoring classic cars, or tackling projects where I can build or repair something with my hands. I also enjoy playing chess and board games with my son. I don't always win—especially at Uno—but I always enjoy the time we spend together.

Tech Logic connects libraries with their communities through dynamic, innovative, and efficient workflow technologies—delivering unparalleled service and outstanding patron experience. Since 1997, we have worked exclusively with libraries to develop solutions that empower library patrons and staff.
