Team Member Spotlight: Beth Futch

Beth started with Tech Logic in 2020. Her first day on the job was in a booth at the Public Library Association Conference. For many this might have felt overwhelming, but Beth felt right at home on the exhibit floor. As a Senior Solutions Specialist at Tech Logic, Beth is dedicated to building strong relationships with her customers. Through her extensive background in the library industry, she is able to understand library workflow and needs, delivering the best solutions while considering the best value and cost savings for customers. Beth has a bachelor’s degree in education and started her career as a teacher.

To help us get to know Beth more, we asked her a few questions:

Can you describe how you assist librarians with products from beginning to end?

I’m responsible for consulting with libraries to address strategic planning, selection, design, and execution of effective library solutions. I have even assisted in product installation...you know the small things like pulling a few wires or retrieving tools. LOL.  

How has your background in education informed your role as a Senior Solutions Specialist at Tech Logic?

As a former teacher, I understand that librarians are crucial partners in fostering literacy, research skills, and technology integration. Librarians are really co-teachers that support curriculum, guide students in finding credible sources, and promote reading across all subjects. They manage resources beyond what classroom teachers can provide, helping to deepen student learning and achievement. As I work with librarians, I want to make sure they are empowered in their mission.  

What is your favorite part of your job?

Building relationships with libraries is important. It’s essential to support their needs and partner with them in the long term. We want to provide the best care possible. It’s a fantastic feeling to transform a library's workflow through automation. This takes a burden off the staff so that they can spend more time assisting patrons.  

What’s your favorite part about working with Tech Logic installers?

I love working with our entire team, but spending time onsite with our installers is always a treat. They are dedicated to excellence and that shows in their hard work. I appreciate every opportunity to collaborate with our installers when we’re both at a library. I’ve learned so much from them. It feels like family and we look out for each other.  

What do you like to do in your free time outside of work?

When I’m not spending time with family, I enjoy time with friends on the water, whether it is the beach or the lake. I enjoy driving in my convertible with the top down through the winding hills of South Carolina, especially the coastal routes.

I also enjoy exploring new places. For example, in 2024, I spent a week in Spain hiking the Portuguese coastal route of El Camino De Santiago. I have plans for the future to “survive” another portion of the hike. If anybody wants to join me, make sure to pack blister tape and a rain poncho! If you know, you know...
