Team Member Spotlight: Andrew Page
Andrew Page has been part of Tech Logic for 13 years; drawn in by the innovation and the meaningful impact the work has on libraries. He loves creating solutions that truly make life easier for library staff and patrons and values the variety and hands-on collaboration that come with working at a smaller company. Proud of Tech Logic’s thoughtful, flexible approach, Andy brings care and curiosity to everything he does.
To help us get to know Andrew more, we asked him a few questions:
What brought you to Tech Logic?
I moved with my wife to Minnesota from northern Wisconsin when she got a new job in Minneapolis. I was commuting at first, but we agreed I should find a closer job. A recruiter reached out to me about a position at Tech Logic that sounded like a good fit skills-wise, and I was immediately surprised and drawn in by how much automation was happening within libraries. I had an interview and tour of the facility where I met lots of friendly people who were very excited about what they were working on and happy to explain it. I was pretty hooked at that point.
Could you describe your role at Tech Logic?
I am part of the software development team, working on products like our baseCAMP dashboard, totalAMH Delivery software and staffCIRC TRAK, to name some. I also help with designing the electrical controls for our totalAMH systems and help with customer care when problems are escalated.
What excites you most about the library industry?
I had worked in commercial automation and manufacturing before, and everything was about the bottom line. I really love that the automation and features we provide are not just about making money but instead are to make someone’s life easier or provide a better user experience.
What do you like most about working for Tech Logic?
I like working for a smaller company where I have more impact and opportunities to work on different projects. While most days I am writing software, some days I’m reviewing system drawings or digging into an electrical cabinet helping to troubleshoot wiring issues.
What have you learned in your time with Tech Logic?
I have learned a lot about interfacing with devices such as receipt printers, RFID and barcode readers and payment devices. I have also learned more about internet security as times change, and security attacks become more sophisticated.
In your opinion, what are some of the most impactful and unique ways that Tech Logic’s services and solutions empower libraries?
I think we work hard to provide many ways to configure and customize our products to fit existing workflows rather than trying to make libraries follow a new workflow just to make a product work the same way for everyone.
Outside of work, what would you like to share about yourself?
My wife and I have two children that keep us busy. We like to travel together visiting family and, also visiting new places when we can.
Tech Logic connects libraries with their communities through dynamic, innovative, and efficient workflow technologies—delivering unparalleled service and outstanding patron experience. Since 1997, we have worked exclusively with libraries to develop solutions that empower library patrons and staff.
